How does the Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) work in an E888

Q. Thermocouple Cold Junction Compensation via CAN

When selecting the E888 thermocouple voltage input in M1 Tune (E8xx Thermocouple N), does the voltage received via CAN from the E888 already include Cold Junction Compensation, or is it raw thermocouple voltage?
 

A. The compensation is automatically handled in the E888.

Q. Is there any difference between these two approaches below?

*Option A*: Receive the thermocouple voltage in M1 Tune and configure the
transfer curve within M1 Tune

*Option B*: Send the temperature value directly from E888 to M1 Tune (if
possible)

A. There is no option here, you just select the input, and use the calibration file from the dropdown for the thermocouple.
