The i2 software requires an exact match between the name of the channel logged and the channel name selected within i2. This means that if you are working with a workspace that was originally configured using data from an M800 ECU, and you have since upgraded to an M1 ECU, the channel names set up in the worksheets will not correspond. For instance, in the M800, the RPM channel is named Engine RPM, whereas in the M1, this same channel is called Engine Speed. Because these names do not match exactly, i2 will not display the data for the Engine Speed channel, resulting in missing information on your graphs.
To resolve this issue and ensure that the data displays correctly, you need to update the channel names to match those used by the M1 ECU. There are several methods available to make these changes, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your workflow.
One approach is to double-click on the desired channel name within the Channel List. Doing this will automatically add the channel into the Time Graph. The i2 software will attempt to match the units of the newly added channel with any existing channels already present in the graph. If no matching units are found, it will create a new group within the Time Graph to accommodate the channel. However, if you are using the i2 Standard version and have already reached the maximum number of channels allowed in the Time Graph, you may need to remove an existing channel before adding a new one.
Another method involves using drag and drop functionality. You can select the channel you wish to add and drag it directly into the Time Graph, positioning it wherever you prefer. This method also allows you to drag and drop channels into existing graphs, which will automatically update the displayed channel to the one you have dropped in place. This provides a quick and intuitive way to manage your channels and customise your data display.
Additionally, you can access the Time/Distance Graph Properties window by right-clicking on the Time Graph or by pressing the F5 key on your keyboard. Within this window, you have the ability to add or remove channels and rearrange their order to suit your analysis needs. It also allows you to edit the properties of each channel, including adjusting the scaling for individual channels or for the groups they belong to. This level of control helps you tailor the display to better visualise and interpret your data.
