The CAN Comms Timeout error is typically caused by one of two issues, the first being that Display Creator has not been enabled on the device that a Display Creator configuration has been sent into, or secondly, that the CAN dbc file generated by Dash Manager does not match the dbc file that is in the Display Creator configuration that has been sent into the Display.
To determine if the Display has been licenced for Display Creator, connect to the Display using the matching Dash Manager, and go to Online | Dash Options (Upgrades)
This will open up the Dash Options window, this lists all of the functions that have been enabled on the Display.
Look for Display Creator in the list, if it is not there, then the Display has not been enabled for Display Creator. This can be ordered through your local MoTeC Dealer.
If Display Creator is enabled in the Display, in the Dash Manager, go to the Display Setup window and ensure that this has been configured to Display : Internal Display (using Display Creator).
Make sure that all of the channels that you want to have displayed in Display Creator have been added into the Channel List, and the under Options, that the Generate DBC File has been ticked on. The Use default filename option uses the name that has been used in Dash Manager to name the configuration. Save the configuration in Dash Manager and send it into the Display.
When this is done, open the project in Display Creator and go to the Communications tab, and check that the DBC file in use matches the one generated by the Dash Manager configuration.
If the names match, click on the Update button to ensure that the latest file is loaded, if it doesn't match, click on the Select button to navigate to the file and select it. Save and send the Display Creator configuration file into the Display
