The M800 can be configured to transmit CAN messages to operate the factory centre diff controller and dash board.
Requirements: M800 EVOX Plug-In ECU running software version 3.51R or later.
CAN Setup
To transmit and receive all the CAN channels required by the car, setup the CAN parameters as follows –
In ECU manager on the Adjust menu, click General Setup > Communications > CAN Setup
| CAN 3 Data | 14 |
| CAN 3 Address | 776 |
| CAN 4 Data | 14 |
| CAN 4 Address | 528 |
| CAN 5 Data | 14 |
| CAN 5 Address | 1544 |
| CAN 6 Data | 5 |
| CAN 6 Address | 520 |
Auxiliary Output 8
Auxiliary output 8 must be set up to generate a channel that can be transmitted via CAN to request diff lock.
Auxiliary Output 8 | Aux Table = Diff lock request.
| Function | 3 |
| Parameters | |
| PWM/Switched | 0 |
| Output Mode | 1 |
| Polarity | 0 |
| Frequency | 10 |
| Minimum Duty Cycle | 0 |
| Maximum Duty Cycle | 100 |
| Hysteresis | 0 |
Table: Diff control strategy
0% to approximately 20% has no effect on diff lock. From approximately 20% to 100% there is an effect on the amount of diff lock, but it is more dependent on other factors like wheel slip and diff mode that take priority. It can be used to preload the diff on turn into a corner and used on straight line acceleration where 100% will give approximately 20% actual diff lock.
Injector 6 Output
Injector output 6 must be set up to generate a channel that can be transmitted via CAN to control the speed of the thermatic fans.
| Function | 133 |
| Parameters | |
| Time Out | 5 |
| Frequency | 100 |
| Polarity | 0 |
| Output Mode | 0 |
| Minimum Duty Cycle | 0 |
| AC Minimum Duty Cycle | 0 |
Table:
| Engine Temp °C | 0.0 | 80.0 | 80.1 | 90.0 | 90.1 | 135 | |
| ECU Temp °C | 130 | 70 | 70 | 70 | 70 | 70 | 70 |
| 95.1 | 70 | 70 | 70 | 70 | 70 | 70 | |
| 95.0 | 0 | 0 | 40 | 40 | 70 | 70 | |
| -30 | 0 | 0 | 40 | 40 | 70 | 70 | |
Low speed fan switches on with values above 1. High speed fan switches on at values above ~60. ECU temp is set as an axis of the table and is required to keep the ECU cool in the event of the ambient air temperature in the engine bay exceeding the ECU's rating.
Ignition output 6 and Digital input 4
Ignition output 6 and Digital input 4 must be set up to generate a channel that can be transmitted via CAN to control the Check Engine Light.
Ignition 6 Output – Driver Warning
Turns on the Check Engine Light on the dash board.
| Function | 108 |
| Parameters | |
| Hold Time | 10 |
| Include Diag Errors | 0 |
| Logic Polarity | 0 |
| Output Mode | 0 |
| Power Hold | 0 |
Digital Input 4 – Monitor (Oil pressure warning alarm)
| Function | 29 |
| Parameters | |
| Polarity | 0 |
Note: If polarity is wrong, oil pressure warning will show on the dash when the engine is started.
Wheel speed
The wheel speed sensors can be received directly from the car via CAN. The WSS (ABS) unit transmits wheel speed information that can be received by the M800 with the following input setup:
Input setup
Left Drive Speed (Wheel Speed RL) Source ECU2 3
Right Drive Speed (Wheel Speed RR) Source ECU2 2
Calibration for both wheel speeds: Custom, km/h, one decimal place
| Input | -16384 | -14784 | -384 | 0 |
| km/h | 0.0 | 100.0 | 1000.0 | 1024.0 |
