The multi config system allows up to four configuration files to be loaded into "slots" in the ECU.
The Slots
The first slot is called the "Adjust" slot, this is the normal slot that ECU Manager uses when sending files and making adjustments.
Note that when ECU Manager "opens" the ECU the Adjust slot configuration will be used regardless of the multi config selection.
The other three slots (Slots 1, 2 & 3) are used to store configurations but cannot be adjusted directly.
Making Adjustments
To make adjustments to the files that are to be placed in Slots 1, 2 or 3 the corresponding file on the PC must be loaded into the Adjust slot. Adjustments may then be made and saved to the file. The file may then be sent to slot 1, 2 or 3.
Sending Configuration Files to the Slots
To send a file to a slot, select the slot from the list then click on the Send button and select the required file.
Retrieving Configurations from the Slots
The configurations may be retrieved from the slots and saved in a file. To retrieve a file, select the slot from the list then click on the Get button then specify the file to save the configuration to.
Active Configuration
One of the slots is nominated as the Active slot by either manually selecting it from the setup screen or via a switch that is connected to the ECU. This active slot will be used when the ECU powers up.
The Active slot may be directly selected from the Multi Config Setup screen, or "Switchable" may be selected which allows the configuration to be selected by connecting one or two switches to the ECU. The switches may be connected to AT6 or AT5 to select between the Adjust slot and one other slot or two switches may be connected to both AT5 and AT6 to select between all four slots.
AT5 Off and AT6 Off = Adjust Slot
AT5 Off and AT6 On = Slot 1
AT5 On and AT6 Off = Slot 2
AT5 On and AT6 On = Slot 3
NOTE. If the slot has been directly set (not switchable) entering adjust mode will change the slot selection to the Adjust slot. To return to the original slot the slot must be manually selected again.
Reset Option
The "Reset ECU when switching" option should normally be ticked on. This ensures that the ECU reacts to all necessary setting changes when switching between configurations.
If this option is not ticked then the ECU will only use table changes and will ignore any setting changes.
Note that when this option is on the engine may monetarily cough or stall when changing slots.
Active Config Channel
The active configuration number is available in the channel called "Active Config". This channel may be logged or displayed in ECU Manager. 0 = Adjust, 1 = Slot 1 etc.
