It is likely this is an Open GL (graphics rendering) related issue.
This can be sometimes due to graphics drivers or windows updates.
Try running Tune 1.5 from command line to force it to run in direct X.
So when you open command prompt, you will need to point it to the Tune 1.5 directory by entering: cd "C:\Program Files\MoTeC\M1\Tune\1.5"
Once the directory changes, type in: M1Tune.exe --gpu=DX
When it opens, check the messages to confirm that the renderer has changed to direct X and use the software to confirm if you no longer get crashing.
